Why Ishwari Silks?

There was always a saree in a shop window in Namma Bengaluru. An unexpected border, a color combination we couldn’t stop looking at—the one we kept thinking about long after we walked past.

We wanted more chances to say yes: to that price, that print and to sarees loved for everyday moments just as much as weddings.

That love became Ishwari Silks.

The sarees we wanted

Sometimes you simply want a different saree for this occasion—one you love, at a price that makes saying yes easy.

We grew up in Bengaluru loving sarees that were a little different, and through our travels that love only grew. From the workmanship of traditional weaves to an unexpected print on a flowing fabric, we’ve always loved how a saree can carry centuries of tradition and still feel completely new.

We wanted to make the styles we loved in India easier to discover here in the US, at prices that let you buy a saree simply because you loved it.

So we created handpicked collections, honest presentation, transparent prices and a buying experience designed to feel easy.

We’re just getting started. We want to keep exploring India, discovering distinctive sarees from different places and traditions, and bringing the ones we love to you.

Two sisters, one shared love

Prema spent her career building consumer brands. Suma spent hers building systems and figuring out how to make them work better. Between the two of us, we’re both completely enchanted by a beautiful saree. That part came naturally.

We work with small, women-run businesses in India. Their eye, enterprise and love for sarees are part of every collection we bring to you.

We’re multilingual Bengaluru girls whose Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English occasionally get tangled these days.

But we speak saree fluently.
